A pic I took in the Hunter Valley in 2001 became the cover of debut novel Ice Valley
The story behind writing Ice Valley goes way back to 1999, when it began its life as a short story. Life and work got in the way and eventually I found time to create my debut novel. The writing side took me a little over 5 years. The self-publishing side was much more complex and stressful and a huge learning curve. When I write, I get lost and for a time I can forget the stresses of life.
Interesting fact: Ice Valley is mainly set in the Hunter Valley. The cover for Ice Valley was a photograph I took back in 2001 when we lived in Sydney and visited the Hunter. I love that the negatives sat for over 20 years waiting to be used as the cover of my debut novel.
